I am a licensed physician practicing psychoanalytic psychotherapy and medication management as needed. As a former OB/GYN, I have a particular interest in the emotional and mental well being of women facing infertility, pregnancy loss, and during pregnancy and beyond. I am also very interested in working with men and women experiencing real bodily symptoms with no clear medical explanation, as I see these as an important internal communications of great value.
I come to this work having graduated from medical school at the U of W in 1991; completed residency and fellowship training in 1996; practiced, taught and performed research at a medical university; and worked in private practice before changing careers. I began my training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Center for Object Relations Northwest Family Development Center in 2006, and completed certificate training in Parent-Infant and Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in 2008 and 2011 respectively. To ensure the high quality of my work, I am actively engaged in ongoing consultation and study at Northwestern Psychoanalytic Society & Institute, where I am now a candidate; the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study, the Seattle Psychoanalytic Society & Institute and the Center for Object Relations NWFDC.
