Specialty/Practice Description:
Psychoanalysis.
My residency in psychiatry at the University of Rochester provided a background in biological psychiatry but also an introduction to psychoanalytic thinking, which I pursued in the Washington, DC area, as a staff member and later Director of Psychotherapy at Chestnut Lodge, a psychoanalytic hospital where I worked for more than 20 years. I received psychoanalytic training at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute in Washington, DC, and maintained a private practice of psychiatry and psychoanalysis there until moving, for family reasons, to the the Seattle area in 2014. I am currently on faculty and Supervising Analyst at SPSI and NPSI, and in private practice in Bellevue.
