Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis for Adults

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start.”  Nido Qubein

I earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University (1998) and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Washington.  I am a senior candidate and the candidate president at  Northwestern Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.

I have been working in the mental health field since 1990.  I work with individuals on issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, recovery from abuse, relationship issues, work/career issues, chronic pain/illness, life cycle issues, and stress management.

My approach to therapy is relationship oriented from a psychoanalytic perspective.  I believe this perspective allows understanding of the unconscious emotional blueprint that is behind behaviors, thoughts and feelings.  Through careful attention to thoughts, feelings, dreams and desires, the possibilities open up to deepen self-understanding allowing engagement in a more vital and satisfying life.
